I was walking about, exploring Sydney and Australia for the first time and happened upon Rush. It smelled great from the street and I noticed it was reasonably priced, so I decided to go in and try it out.

I got the chicken burger, which came with fries that were generously seasoned. The food came out pretty quickly and everything tasted great! I would go back again for sure!!

I'd just spent the good part of the afternoon hiking up around the Brisbane Waters National Park, and as I was making my way back to my Hotel I realised that I hadn't eaten. Sure enough I came upon this place, so I decided to would duck in and check it out. I have to admit that I was really, really impressed. This is one of those places that are bringing the humble burger back onto my menu of food that I am willing to eat. I ended up having the lamb burger, namely because it was different and I have to say that I was nothing short of wonderful. They also have meal deals, so I grabbed one of them and the chips were also pretty decent, which is a huge bonus because good burgers and good chips are actually a rarity. It is a shame I don't like in Sydney because I would definitely becoming back here.

How now, hunger? Whither wander you?

Over hill, over dale.... To Reservoir street?

You know one of those days when your appetite is 'meh". That was none other than I this very lunchtime just gone. Like a ship without it's captain my hunger was directionless and lost at sea with no land in sight.

Chicken? Nah, don't want chicken. Don't fancy a sandwich. When the weary protagonist of this review had resigned himself to going to Woolies to get something there. My stomach rumbled, things are getting desperate. I look around one last time in hope and there it was. The light house beacon shone in the distance in the form of this place.... "Ooooh, Hotdogs". I loosened a notch on my belt and said "wassup?"

I'd heard about this place and had been meaning to check it out. First thing I noticed. The prices, this spot was incredibly reasonable with a few very appealing combo deals.

Once the seed of a hot dog was planted in my brain nothing else would do. I went with the cheezy bacon and a drink. Check this out? I got change from a tenner.... Let that sink in for a moment. Change, from a 10 dollery doo note. In Surry Hills.

Now I had mentioned they seemed cheap but all that is for nothing if they serve up kittie litter in a tray. Not so, soft bun, heaps of pickles and bacon, loads of cheese and a decent sized hotdogs.

If you had read any of my reviews it's safe to say my 4 or 5 stars probably equate to 3 stars for others. It takes very little for me to be enthusiastic I don't do fancy, I like places that do simple stuff I like and well, places like this joint are my jam. First impressions of this place are positive. The Appetite ship has left the harbor and plans to return here to try more stuff in the very near future.

The very nice people behind the counter must have looked at me strange as I stood on the corner of the street saluting them and silently mouthing the words "aye, aye captain" as a tear rolled down my face.

I plan to come back here and see if these guys turn the 4 star into a 5. Early signs for me suspects, they just might.

Friend works in Surry Hills and saw people handing out flyers, so we made a note to check it out.

I went on their FB page and it had this promo on it:

    "FEELING HUNGRY?

It's almost lunch time and we're giving out FREE samples of burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches from 12.30pm - 2.30pm daily from Tuesday to Friday. Mention this Facebook post when requesting your free lunch.

    Stock's are limited so hurry."

So we rock up today, showing them this promo and what do you know, they said they're not aware of this promotion even though it's advertised on their Facebook page. The cashier says she'll speak with the manager who then says they're sold out of free samples (bold faced lie) but will give us a free chilli dog as a favour.

This place is great at building customer satisfaction eh?

I decline the chilli dog, friend accepts and I order a El Cabrones, which is wagyu beef, lettuce, avocade, onion, bacon, chipotle sauce, and pickles...sounds promising right?

This may have been one of the worst burgers I've had in my life. I couldn't even finish it. Those that know me know I have a high tolerance for food, especially burgers and will eat almost anything. It's a sad day when I DON'T want to finish something.

If you're boasting about using wagyu for a burger, don't:

    1) Overcook the meat.  What's the point of a well done burger?
    2) Abstain from seasoning said meat. There was no flavour in the burger
    3) Use sourdough for a bun. What's with using super dry bread with super dry meat?

I'm not a fan of sourdough on a burger, that's just not right. I suppose if you like Grill'd you would like this place (I hate Grill'd) They do offer 4 chips with each burger for free GREAT VALUE EVERYONE!!!

The chilli dog tasted like cardboard coated with ketchup and mustard. Don't do this to yourselves.

Don't go here unless you like punishing yourself for sins you may have done to others.

I am so damm happy that I'm going to the gym tonight as I've just finished carb loading with this "El Carbons" burger. Basically take a burger, add bacon (of course) and smother the meat pattie in a melted cheese sauce.

While I would have loved a pickle on the side or a spicy chilli sauce to cut through the cheese, it was still a damm fine burger. And for $8.90...??!! O_o you can get no complaints from me.

Ok... Maybe one complaint.... Their menu is soooo loooong... It is going to take ages to try them all...
